Trivia Night

Friday the 18th November, The Racing Cafe held their first trivia night. What a night it was indulging in antipasto platters and anything but a healthy competition! A full house and an array of topics proved to create a great atmosphere allowing all teams to get involved. A few team names such as Your a Quizzard Harry were amusing however, it was the Invincible's that took home the crown!

We couldn't be happier with the response we are getting on our Friday night events. It's such a fun night for everyone involved and we are busy planning more for early next year so watch this space!

Comedy Night

Friday the 23rd September The Racing Cafe hosted four comedians, for a comedy evening.

We teamed up with the our awesome neighbors Hop and Vine to offer wine and beer tastings, and served a tapas style menu with the Paprika Smoked Chorizo Popcorn being the most popular among our customers.

All four comedians had everybody in tears of laughter and it was an absolute pleasure to see everybody walking away with big smiles on their faces and their taste buds tingling.

Such a fun way to start the weekend and we cant wait to do more events like this in the future.

Author High Tea Talk

This year The Racing Cafe continued their Author Talk High Tea series on Friday the 29th July 2016. It was a pleasure to host Mary-Rose MacColl giving us an insight to her latest novel Swimming Home. Swimming Home being Mary-Rose's fifth novel is set in London in the mid-1920s, a young Australian and her aunt are each on a journey of self-discovery - one by attempting to swim the English Channel the other to rediscover the woman she used to be.

The cafe was a buzz with everybody there to listen to Mary-Rose talk. Their wasn't an empty seat in the house. Mary-Rose had kindly brought along Anna Torok to participate in the conversations about the book as she had recently completed the swim across the English Channel.

This novel is a must read and once you have started it you will not be able to put it down.

The conversations between Mary-Rose, Anna and the group were very relaxed and enjoyable. We thoroughly enjoy having Author talks here at The Racing Cafe and this one was one of our best ones yet!

Stay tuned next year for more up coming author talks that you will not want to miss.
